Custom Made Gum Shields

Our custom-made gumshields are based on accurate individual dental impressions that provide a superior fit for better protection and comfort that lasts.

We are noticing more and more dental trauma injuries when a patient hasn’t found the time to arrange a dental visit to have a professionally made gum shield fitted or by wearing an ill-fitting “boil in the bag” sports-guard.

In response to this increase in injuries we have set up a new service whereby we arrange a visit to our local schools and sports clubs where those who wish to protect their smile with a properly made, custom fitted gum-shield can get a professional dental impression by an experienced dentist and dental nurse in a hygienic environment without the hassle of a dental appointment. The shields take just a week to fabricate and we then arrange to come out to you for a fitting visit.

A choice of colours is available to match your team/school jersey and each gum-shield comes complete with owners name printed on the shield and a storage box. The colour choices are as follows:

Amber, Black, Dark Blue, Maroon, Silver, Gold, Blue, Lilac, Sky Blue, Green, Pink, Red, Turquoise, White, Yellow, Fluorescent Orange, Fl/Yellow, Fl/Green, Clear, Fl/Pink, RAC Green, Brown, Fl/Red, Apple, Lavender, Cerise, Sandstone, Cherry, Amethyst, Teal, Aussie Yellow, Metallic Mint, Shrimp, Metallic Green.

Each gum-shield costs €50 and this cost drops to €40 for orders over 20 players.

As any parent who regularly has to replace lost sports gear knows, it can be expensive to keep their child properly kitted out for each game and training session. That is why at Riverside Dental Practice in Celbridge we have introduced Life-Guard for our patients. All our patients who play contact sports and wish to have a gum-shield made will have any lost/damaged guard replaced free of charge, for life.
